Invite to stand up for clean energy this Saturday Oct. 19 in Cleveland

Sen. Bill Seitz (R-Cincinnati) has introduced legislation, SB 58, to gut Ohio’s clean energy and energy efficiency standards. This is a fight we cannot lose. Luckily, we have a secret weapon – You!

This Saturday, Oct 19, Sierra Club members, supporters and allies will be going door-to-door collecting letters to send to legislators and Governor Kasich urging them to oppose SB 58. This flood of letters can counteract the insider lobbying and stand up for keeping electric rates low through energy efficiency and continuing to support Ohio’s clean energy future.

But those letters won’t collect themselves. Be there Saturday and make a difference in Ohio’s clean energy future.

Cleveland Mayor Frank Jackson and the Plain Dealer editorial boards have already come out to publicly oppose SB 58. Now we need to send a message to the folks in the Statehouse their constituents oppose the legislation as well. We want to move forward with clean energy and efficiency, not back.

We’re not going to win the fight to stop SB 58 without an army of grassroots support. We’re not going to win this fight without YOU! Please join us this weekend!

Go. Fight. Win.
