The “Great March for Climate Action” will arrive in Cleveland Heights on Saturday, October 4, 2014 and leave Monday, October 6, 2014. They are sixty marchers from forty states and Canada who put their lives on hold to highlight the urgency of climate change. They left Los Angeles on March 1 and plan to arrive in Washington DC on November 1, 2014.
Here is the plan for when they are in our area:
- If you have an extra bed or couch and want to host a marcher or two (or more) Saturday and Sunday nights, come to the Unitarian Society of Cleveland, 2728 Lancashire Road, Cleveland Hts at 4 pm. We’ll pair up locals and marchers then.
- Later on Saturday at the Unitarian Society, there will be a potluck for the marchers at 6 pm. Everyone is welcome to bring a dish or two to share. Let’s help feed these activists!
- On Sunday, everyone is welcome to come to the Grog Shop at Coventry and Euclid Heights Blvd in Cleveland Hts. at 6 pm to talk with the marchers about climate and hear tales of the road. Stay from 7:30 – 9:30 pm for fun, music making and whatever. If you play music, please bring your instrument for some musicmaking fun.
