Hot Topics and Cool Brews

Support the Ohio Sierra Club PAC

Thursday, August 30 at 6PM at Goldhorn Brewery
1361 East 55th Street, Cleveland

Come and help Sierra Club work to elect environmental Champions to office to represent North East Ohio in Columbus and Washington DC. Proceeds will help the Ohio Sierra Club staff and volunteers to engage our members and the public to elect our endorsed candidates.

Learn about local environmental issues and solutions and meet Sierra Club members. We will also invite our endorsed candidates and have speakers to inform and inspire use about environmental politics from a North East Ohio perspective.

David Beach
David has been a leading voice for sustainability and the environment in Northeast Ohio for more than 25 years. He has been a founder of numerous organizations and projects, including EcoCity Cleveland, the Greater Ohio Policy Center, the City of Cleveland’s Office of Sustainability, and the Cleveland EcoVillage. His writing and activism have helped to shape major civic issues, such as regional land use planning, watershed planning, transportation priorities, and planning to address climate change.

Ohio Senator Michael Skindell
Michael Skindell was named the 2004 Environmental Legislator of the Year by the Ohio Environmental Council and he has continued to be a champion for Lake Erie and Clean Energy for Ohio. While serving in the Ohio House, Skindell encouraged adoption of a renewable energy portfolio standard in Ohio. The General Assembly passed Senate Bill 221, creating a standards program in 2008.
