Support Betsy Rader for Congress – Fall 2018
NEO Sierra Club members have a golden opportunity to increase support for sound environmental policy in the U.S. House of Representatives. Betsy Rader, a pro-environment Democrat, is running against Republican Dave Joyce in Ohio’s 14th Congressional District, which includes aIl of Ashtabula, Lake, and Geauga Counties, in addition to eastern Cuyahoga County, northern Trumbull County, northern Portage County, and northeastern Summit County. Rader is a lawyer with a degree from Yale, has been endorsed by Sierra Club, and is a Sierra Club member herself. On her campaign website, she states that we must:
- Protect our public resources — our clean air and water, green space and public health
- Strengthen America’s energy independence with an emphasis on sustainable and renewable energy resources that will promote job growth in Northeast Ohio
- Fight for expanded funding for innovative water infrastructure projects that improve drinking water and water quality in the Great Lakes region.
For more information about her campaign, including ways that you can volunteer to help carry her to victory in November, please go to www.betsyraderforcongress.com. Remember, one of the most effective ways that we can protect our environment is to elect pro-environment government officials at all levels. Here is a chance to help do that; please take advantage of it!
